Create: 36 Days Of Type

36 Days of Type is an annual celebration of type and creativity, involving designers, illustrators, type lovers and creatives from all around the globe. The project challenges creatives to make and post something new everyday as a way to experiment and push themselves outside of their comfort zone. Our own illustrator and designer Arron Croasdell takes part in the challenge every year but this year we have decided to get the whole studio involved. Everyday this April a member of the Wonder Works team will be creating a typographic piece and sharing it online. Make sure to follow us on instagram so you don't miss out!

Their newest exhibition, Open Labs, is described as part exhibition, part experiment showcasing DIY culture across design, research, technology and activism. The identity they've produced for the exhibition follows this theme and encourages visitors to design their own poster for the exhibition through an interactive online poster maker.

Support: Kildare Animal Foundation

Founded in 1994 Kildare Animal Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the welfare of cats, dogs and other animals. Wonder Works' own Pearse Stokes volunteers regularly as part of their Wildlife Unit - you may have even heard him on Joe Duffy's Liveline recently! Wonder Works has collaborated with Kildare Animal Foundation on a number of design projects to help them raise awareness about wildlife issues and bring public attention to their mission to rescue sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and to rehabilitate them so they can be released back to the wild. This month Kildare Animal Foundation will be hosting their annual table quiz at The Harbour Bar in Bray on the 25th of April.

Remember: Blast From The Past

Nostalgia is on the loose in the Wonder Works Studio. Our project manager Karan is excited to 'say hello, wave goodbye' to David Gray in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre and there's also Bon Jovi and A-Ha to look forward to this year too. We've also been remembering the good old days on Deep Space Nine inspired by this petition we found online.
